Benvenuti all'Antico Casale del Gallo 1879!

L’Antico Casale del Gallo era un vecchio deposito tutto in pietra di fiume, travi di castagno e cotto toscano, risalente all’anno 1879. Tale data è stata impressa in una pietra della facciata, lato dx dell’abitazione , sotto la finestra della camera “mamma Anna”.

Daniela e Salvatore che sono i proprietari  hanno curato nei particolari  la  ristrutturazione che  è stata effettuata di recente secondo le regole dettate dalla Soprintendenza ai Beni Culturali i materiali sono stati mantenuti (dalle tegole del tetto, alle travi, alle pietre che la compongono, ai pavimenti del 1° piano).

La Casa confina sul retro con il bosco dove si puo’ notare qualche volta cinghiali e caprioli. Sul fianco sinistro confina con alcune remote capanne che ospitano all’interno   un gallo e diverse galline (quindi al mattino sentirete il caratteristico canto del Gallo) ecc.

La zona è molto tranquilla e quindi nei periodi previsti, vengono diverse persone per la ricerca e raccolta dei funghi porcini, delle castagne, delle noci.   Nei pressi si raggiunge una fontana dalla quale perennemente sgorga acqua potabile di sorgente (molto buona e leggera).

Sempre lì vicino vi è la piu’ antica cartiera della zona. I macchinari tutti rigorosamente a mano e ad acqua sono ancora funzionanti e tenuti ben oleati e conservati .

Il verde domina la zona come anche i corsi d’acqua che si incrociano ed intersecano dopo il ponte della strada in questione. D’estate vi sono delle zone del fiume che consentono la pesca delle trote di fiume. Si puo’ anche fare un bagno ma l’acqua è piuttosto fredda. Una passeggiata nel bosco o pochi passi vicino al fiume sono da farsi perché consentono di poter ammirare la bellezza della natura, del bosco (che non è fitto per cui facilmente attraversabile).

Nel caso tenere sempre come riferimento il fiume e non allontanarsi troppo. Vi sono alberi ultracentenari che hanno delle forme bellissime (come quel tronco a forma di scimmia che è in foto) : sembra di vivere in un film!

La cartiera ubicata davanti al nostro Casale è in stato di abbandono ed è all’asta, è una delle 44 cartiere che operavano lungo la via appunto detta “delle Cartiere”. Il Casale del Gallo prima di essere un deposito e pollaio veniva utilizzato per stendere la carta della vicina cartiera. Se osservate attentamente le travi di castagno presentano dei piccoli fori – buchi che sono quelli prodotti dai gancini di ferro ivi apposti per trattenere i fili di canapa dove veniva stesa la famosa “carta paglia” ad asciugare. La carta paglia oramai non piu’ esistente era quella utilizzata per “incartare gli alimenti (salumi, acciughe ecc.) ed era composta semplicemente da paglia, acqua e calce.

L'Antico Casale del Gallo was an old warehouse  all  in river stone, chestnut beams and terracotta, dating from 1879. This date was engraved in a stone facade, the right side of the house under the bedroom window "mother Anna." 

 Daniela and Salvatore are the owners have studied in detail the restructuring that took place and exactly according to the rules dictated by the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage materials were kept (from the roof tiles, beams , to the stones that compose it, the floors on the 1st floor).   The Casale confina on the back of the woods where you can 'see sometimes  wild boar and deer. On the left side borders on some remote huts that housed a rooster and several hens (in the morning and then hear the distinctive song of the Rooster) and so on. 
The area is very quiet and then in the stipulated time, many people are for research and collection of mushrooms, chestnuts, walnuts. The uphill road ends after about 50 meters (without background) near the last house. Along the latter counterclockwise, you reach a fountain from which flows constantly drinking water source (very good and light).
Also nearby is the most 'old paper mill in the area. The machines all by hand and water are still working and kept well oiled and maintained. 
Green dominates the area as well as the waterways that cross over the bridge and cross the road in question. In summer there are areas of the river that allow fishing for brown trout. You can 'even take a bath but the water is rather cold. A walk in the woods or a few steps near the river have to do because they allow you to admire the beauty of nature, of the forest (which is not dense so easily traversable).

 Should keep the river as a reference and do not stray too far. There are centuries old trees that have beautiful shapes: it seems to live in a movie! 
The mill is located in front of our farmhouse in a state of neglect and the auction is one of the 44 mills that operated along the way just called "Paper". Il Casale del Gallo deposit before being a chicken coop and was used to stretch the paper mill nearby. If you look carefully chestnut beams have small holes - holes that are produced by iron hooks attached thereto to hold the threads of canvas was spread, where the famous "rice paper" to dry. The rice paper now no longer 'exists that was used to "wrap foods (meats, anchovies, etc..) And consisted simply of straw, water and lime.
